SRLP announces non-support of the Gender Employment Non-Discrimination Act!

In a recent letter sent to the GENDA coalition , SRLP, FIERCE, ALP, The Peter Cicchino Youth Project, and Queers for Economic Justice have jointly expressed our concerns with the problematic hate crimes legislation that has been attached to the Gender Employment Non-Discrimination Act.

SRLP announces our legal clinic in the Bronx!

In a collaborative effort with the Bronx Community Pride Center, SRLP will hold legal clinics in the Bronx every third Monday of each month. The clinics will be held between 6pm-8pm at the Bronx Community Pride Center, which is located at 448 east 149th street. Take the 2 or 5 train to the 149th street/3rd avenue stop. Clients will be seen on a first come, first serve basis.

SRLP collaborates with an international law firm to help trans and gender non conforming prisoners in need of name changes

August 2008- The Sylvia Rivera Law Project has announced an innovative name change clinic that will serve trans and gender non conforming prisoners in need of acquiring legal name changes.

How to get legal help from SRLP

Intake for new cases is conducted only during drop in hours. Clients are seen on a first come, first served basis. We often cannot see people who arrive during the last hour of drop in hours. Bring all papers you have about your case with you. Click on the link above to find out more.
