The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) released the first
immigration law practice manual for attorneys representing transgender
clients in January 2009, co-authored by Immigration Equality and the Transgender Law Center (TLC), the guide provides practical advice and information to assist attorneys representing transgender immigrants.
The deportation rates of trans and gender non-conforming immigrants are disproportionately higher than those of non-trans identified immigrants. This diagram attempts to explore the various reasons why this is happening.
