The Sylvia Rivera Law Project is sad to share the news that a trans woman named Amanda Gonzalez-Andujar was found dead in her Glendale Queens apartment on Tuesday. She had not been heard from since last Friday. Police are investigating the murder, including reviewing surveillance video taken from inside the building.

We share the grief and sorrow of those who knew her.
In solidarity, we promise to continue to fight against this type of violence in our communities.
We are still outraged at the hatred, transphobia and violence that persist to lead to the untimely deaths of more and more transgender and gender nonconforming people, particularly young transgender women of color.
