DESCRIPTION:Legal Mail Night is a volunteer opportunity that allows communi
 ty members and allies to come together and write informative letters to tr
 ansgender\, gender non-conforming\, and intersex people who have written t
 o SRLP from behind bars across the US.\n\nSRLP is only able to provide dir
 ect legal services to people in New York State\, but we know that there ar
 e not enough resources out there for any incarcerated person\, let alone T
 GNCI folks. So we hold this night in order to respond thoroughly and with 
 love to these writers and to invite them to join our Movement Building Tea
 m through the Prisoner Advisory Committee.\n\nIf this is your first time p
 lease feel reassured that there will be a brief orientation in the first h
 alf-hour and Mik is always present throughout the night to help answer any
  questions. There is no need for you to have any previous knowledge of the
  law in order to volunteer! All you need is kindness\, energy\, attention 
 to detail\, and some level of comfort around using a computer.\n \nWhen:
  We aim to hold these nights on the first Friday of each month\, but they
  are subject to change. In October we need to hold this night on Wednesday
 \, October 10 due to staff travel. We begin at 6pm and end at 8pm. **If th
 is is your first time attending I ask that you show up at 6pm for a brief 
 orientation\, but if you have had the training before please show up anyti
 me before 7!
