DESCRIPTION:The Sylvia Rivera Law Project (SRLP)\, Audre Lorde Project (ALP
 )\, and Make the Road New York (MRNY) have been working to get Medicaid in
  the state of NY to repeal their transphobic ban of providing gender-relat
 ed healthcare for Trans and Gender Non-Conforming (TGNC) folks. On Decembe
 r 17\, 2014 the Department of Health and Governor Cuomo announced edits th
 at will provide preventative check-ups\, hormones (18+) and surgery (21+) 
 for New Yorkers regardless of gender identity!\n\nWhile we are still seeki
 ng coverage for youth and the removal of "cosmetic" exclusions\, this is a
  huge victory for our campaign. And after all the planning\, petitioning\,
  and protesting it's time for us to mark our accomplishments and CELEBRATE
