Resourcing Our Communities is Resistance

The Sylvia Rivera Law Project is committed to growing the ability of trans, gender non-conforming, and intersex community members who are people of color and low-income to advocate for themselves and better navigate state systems that are designed to marginalize and divide us. To assist our folks and their allies, we are pleased to release three new and updated resources:

In these guides, you’ll find advice on changing your name in New York City, interacting with law enforcement, and assisting loved ones on the inside. If you have additional questions or need more support, please contact us.

Digital versions are available on our website. Hard copies can be found at our office, open during membership meetings or when our weekly legal intake reopens on February 9th, or you can email us.

We thank all the community members, allies, staff, and interns who contributed to these resources.

In solidarity,

SRLP
