Lo que esto me hace decir. Es que tenemos que hacer nuestro propio camino y abrir el camino por delante de nosotras sin mirar hacia tras. Hacer pasos para las personas TGNCI, que vienen detrás de nosotras. El tiempo no espera por nadie. Tenemos que hacer entender a la sociedad que como personas trans y generó no conformes merecemos vivir sin miedo de ser víctimas de violencia o odio. Muchas veces, los medios se quedan atrás al informar estos actos o perjudican aún más a nuestra comunidad al usar nombres y pronombres de género incorrectos. SRLP lamenta la pérdida de Layla Peláez y Serena Angelique Velázquez. Nos solidarizamos con nuestra comunidad TGNCI en Puerto Rico. Continuaremos luchando por nuestras hermanas trans que están a la vanguardia de los asesinatos sin sentido en todo el mundo.
What this makes me say is that we have to make our own path and open the pathways ahead of us without looking back. Making steps for the TGNCI people, coming in after us. Time waits for no one. We have to make society understand that trans and GNC people deserve to live without fear of being victims of violence or hatred. Often times, the media lags behind reporting these violent acts and further harms our community by using incorrect names and pronouns. SRLP mourns the loss of Layla Peláez and Serena Angelique Velázquez. We stand in solidarity with our TGNCI community in Puerto Rico. We will continue to fight for our trans sisters who are at the forefront of these senseless murders across the world.
