YOUR DJ’s….
► PRECOLUMBIAN is a Philadelphia based genderqueer DJ, musician, and media activist. She has been transforming dance floors from Brooklyn to Mexico City, sharing the stage with Big Freedia, Niña Dioz, Kid Sister, Zuzuka Poderosa, Dengue Dengue Dengue, THEESatisfaction and TT The Artist. She is one half of popular Philly queer dance party Cutn Paste and has just been awarded the 2013 Leeway Transformation Award for her innovative work… in the club.
► SHOMI NOISE is AZUCAR’s resident DJ and 90s riot grrrl!! She is a producer, musician, and writer, bringing the grrrlpower to the Brooklyn underground scene. Her DJ sets include a creative mix of genres and sounds ranging from Latin dance music to electrohouse, reggae to indie rock.
► NU GROWTH is the dress Brandon Owens slips on for sonic exploration. it identifies as genre non-conforming. Nu Growth has most recently heated up the dance floor with our herman@s, Papi Juice!
► ISL has been working behind the scenes producing Azucar for almost 3 years and is now taking her turn behind the decks! This LA grrrl draws from a wide range of musical influences, blending her love of island and border sounds with the 90s hip hop and house jams of her youth. She recently made her DJ debut as part of las Nenas Rudas with Precolumbian, reviving SKA & Rocksteady for the modern dance floor in the form of #futureska.

PERFORMING FOR YOU….
► CYNSEI is a Brooklyn-based rapper and dancer from Dallas, TX. This former elementary school teacher turned bohemian rapper ignites the stage with her biting lyrics and steady flow. As a scholar of American History from Princeton University, she leverages language as a means of activism against political and economic oppression…while still managing to slip in a line or two on love, sex and all that goodgood. Cynsei attacks the mic with the precision and force of any seasoned MC, and keeps the dance floor moving as effortlessly as her tongue. When she’s not rapping, you can catch her acting chops on the3bits.com.
