Sylvia Rivera Law Project is releasing a vital 2018 update to our Know Your Rights for Trans, Gender Non-Conforming and Intersex Immigrants brochure! Available in English and Spanish, print and online, the resource seeks to address some of the most common questions asked by our Trans, gender non-conforming and intersex (TGNCI) immigrant clients and members, such as:
“What are my immigration options?”
“How do I update my name and gender with immigration?”
“What are my travel rights as a TGNCI immigrant?”
Wherever laws, like immigration laws, are designed to be so complicated that they are inaccessible to the communities that need them most, SRLP intends to work in tandem with our clients, members, and volunteers to break them down to make our legal rights understandable. Only by doing so can we achieve collective safety and meaningful justice for our communities. SRLP is grateful to make this small but crucial contribution to furthering the political and legal education of TGNCI immigrants and our fierce allies, increasing our communal understanding of the legal options, obstacles, and available resources for the TGNCI immigrant community.
