Communicating with media professionals can be particularly challenging for transgender people, who are faced with a range of obstacles, from navigating pervasive stereotypes, to being misgendered, and asked to answer invasive questions. Yet sharing personal narratives in the media can be an important part of transgender-focused advocacy work. In this workshop we will discuss ways of talking about your story while addressing the challenges of being transgender in the media spotlight.
