The Human Resources Administration (HRA) has launched, ACCESS HRA, a new website that lets you learn more about benefits in New York City and apply for different assistance programs. Now you can check your case status online. To make things easier, there is also a new app you can download to learn more about your benefit case.
ACCESS HRA allows you to get your current case information by creating an ACCESS HRA account.
You can learn about the following programs online:
• Cash Assistance
• Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known as food stamps
• Medicaid
• HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program)
• IDNYC
• Childcare help
You can even apply online for the following programs:
• SNAP
• Cash Assistance
• Emergency Cash Assistance, also known as a One Shot Deal (for housing help and other cash needs)
• Child Care in lieu of Cash Assistance (CILOCA)
• Medicaid renewal application with the fields pre-populated with your information for printout and submitting by mail (postage not included)
NYC ACCESS HRA Mobile App
The mobile app is also super helpful if you want to see your case status, submit documents to HRA, receive notifications when there are updates regarding your case, or check your EBT card balance. You can download the application here. Please note, you must have or create an ACCESS HRA account to access the mobile app.
You can use the app to see your:
• Case status
• EBT card balance
• Recent payments
• Profile information and make updates
• Upcoming appointments
• Documents on file and documents requested by HRA
You can also now receive push notifications for the following reasons:
• Upcoming appointments
• Requested documents
• E-Notice
• Budget letter
• Voter registration
If you have any complaints or concerns about HRA, such as being misgendered by your case worker or receiving discriminatory treatment due to your transgender, gender non-conforming, or intersex identity, you can contact 311 or email lgbtqia@hra.nyc.gov. You can also come to SRLP’s free walk-in clinic each Thursday to receive legal help.
