SRLP’s Pooja Gehi Says Goodbye For Now!

Dear Friends,  Comrades, and Community,

On Friday, August 15, after 8 incredible years together, I will be taking off my hat as the Director of Immigrant Justice at the Sylvia Rivera Law Project. It has been an honor to work with you, struggle with you, and learn with you in our movement for the liberation of transgender people who are low-income, people of color, and immigrants. You have taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, strength, heartache, love, and liberation. Thank you.

Reflecting on how far we have come, I am filled with hope for the future of our community. Our grassroots collective model that combines direct services with community organizing has enabled us to respond to the needs of transgender people facing systemic barriers to survival while we simultaneously build our community’s power to change systems and create our own.

I want to make a parting gift to our SRLP community as a way to share my thanks and my excitement for our future. Will you help me raise $1,000 as a gift of gratitude to SRLP?

Please click here to make your gift.

I look forward to new opportunities to build together in the future. After August 15, you can reach me at poojagehi2010@gmail.com. I hope to hear from you!

Thank you for all of the time, work, resources, comradeship, and brilliance you’ve shared with me over the years.

And thank you for helping me raise $1000 for SRLP’s future. Your support of our community means so much to me!

In Love and Struggle,

Pooja Gehi, Immigrant Justice Project Director
